More than 5,000 Jehovah's Witnesses attended a three-day convention at the Dee Events Center on June 27-29. The attendees came from Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Wyoming.

The crowd witnessed the baptism and ordination of 50 new ministers last Saturday during the convention. Denomination-wide, more than 1 million new converts have been baptized during the past three years.Speakers at the convention included James Wray from Springville and John Gibbard, from Patterson, N.Y.

Wray told the congregation that a family Bible-reading program would help youth deal with negative peer pressure, and Gibbard stressed that an understanding of Jehovah allows individuals to find meaning in life.
