Dr. Gerald Rothstein, professor of internal medicine and chief of the Division of Geriatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine, has been selected to serve on the Geriatrics and Rehabilitative Medicine Study Section, Center for Scientific Review at the national Institutes of Health. He is also director of the Salt Lake Veterans Affairs Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center.

Study sections review grant applications and make recommendations to the NIH as well as survey the status of research in their fields of study. Rothstein's term ends June 30, 1999.His research interests include nutrition and anemia in the elderly, blood disorders in newborns and the elderly, health problems of the elderly and developmental approaches to the biology of aging.
