Raul Mondesi singled twice, doubled, tripled and drove in three runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers, who traded for All-Star reliever Jeff Shaw during the game, won 9-5 Saturday over the San Francisco Giants.

Mondesi, hitting .480 with eight RBIs in his last six games since moving to the third spot in the lineup, had a two-run triple in the first, doubled in the third and added a run-scoring single in the fifth off Giants starter Mark Gardner (7-4).Mondesi also popped out in the sixth and then had a single in the ninth that scooted past left fielder Barry Bonds for a two-base error, allowing a run to score.

Dave Mlicki (4-4) allowed four runs on six hits in five innings for the victory.

REDS 5, CARDINALS 4: Bret Boone drove in the winning run with a bases-loaded ground out for Cincinnati.

The Reds loaded the bases in the ninth off Rick Croushore (0-1) before Boone's RBI gave the Reds their eighth victory in nine games. Danny Graves (2-0) got the final out in the ninth for the win.

Mark McGwire walked three times and went 0-for-2.

CUBS 5, PIRATES 4: Mickey Morandini homered to tie the game and Henry Rodriguez hit a go-ahead, two-run single in the seventh as Chicago won its fourth straight.

Jose Hernandez tripled to start the seventh and then Morandini homered to right to tie the game at 3-3. It was his third hit of the game.

BRAVES 4, METS 1: Kevin Millwood pitched eight shutout innings to become Atlanta's third 10-game winner.

Millwood (10-4) allowed four hits and two walks as he joined teammates Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine, both 12-game winners, as double-digit winners. Denny Neagle goes for his 10th victory Sunday, a mark only four other NL pitchers have reached.

DIAMONDBACKS 7, ASTROS 4: Brian Anderson stopped Houston's homer streak at six games and Kelly Stinnett homered as Arizona beat the Astros.

Anderson (6-7), who has allowed a National League-leading 21 home runs, gave up nine hits and two runs in seven innings. Stinnett hit his seventh homer in the fifth inning, a solo shot.

MARLINS 3, EXPOS 2: Todd Zeile was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Brian Edmondson pitched 4 2-3 innings of two-hit relief as Florida held off Montreal.

Antonio Alfonseca pitched the ninth for his fourth save. Shawn Boskie (1-2) took the loss.

PHILLIES 6, BREWERS 5: Desi Relaford's RBI single in the ninth pushed Philadelphia past Milwaukee.

Relaford hit a two-run homer in the first and tied it at 5 in the seventh with a two-out RBI single. The rookie shortstop had a career-high four hits and four RBIs hitting in the No. 2 hole for the first time this year.

PADRES 9, ROCKIES 1: Ken Caminiti had a three-run homer and five RBIs as the Padres beat Colorado before 61,148 fans, the largest baseball crowd ever in San Diego and the biggest in the majors this year.
