Tracy Aviary will celebrate its 60th birthday Thursday, July 2, in style by giving free admission to everyone who remembers to bring a birthday card.

"We want handmade birthday cards, the kind kids make in school for their friends and family or do one up on the computer," said Marlayn Shreeve, aviary executive dir-ector."If you're feeling real creative, add glitter, sequins or other fancy stuff. And if you're not so inclined, just write `Happy Birthday' on a piece of paper," she said.

Cake will be served beginning at 11 a.m. for the first 200 visitors, and the bird show will be performed at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Bird shows and feedings in the "Lory Walk," held in areas with limited space, are on a first-come, first-served basis.

The aviary is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Aviary admission prices on other days are $3 for adults and $1.50 for children ages 4 to 12 and senior citizens 65 years of age and older. These prices include admission to a bird show.
