Kara Shinners-Littel died on June 28, 1998 of injuries resulting from a traffic accident.

She was born on October 8, 1979 in Madison, Wisconsin. A recent graduate from Skyline High School, Kara was enrolled for the fall semester at the University of Utah. She excelled in Skyline High School's Debate Program, winning the Lincoln-Douglas State Competition this spring.She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Alta (John) Shinners, of Salt Lake City; and her father, Mr. Michael (Cynthia) Littel, of Madison, Wisconsin; brothers and sisters, Evan and Kylen, of Salt Lake City; Amanda and Mikayla, of Madison, Wisconsin; grandparents, Rollie Williamson, Joan Littel and Delbert Littel, of Madison, Wisconsin; Genevieve Shinners, of Denver, Colorado; eight uncles, 10 aunts and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lillian Williamson; and grandfather, James Edwin Shinners.

A Mass will be celebrated at The Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 East South Temple St., on Thursday, July 2, 1998 at 11 a.m. Director's, Neil O'Donnel and Sons Mortuary.
