Joy Louise Rogers, died June 25th, 1998 at the home of her sister, in Clinton, Utah, after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 44.

Joy was born June 11, 1954 to Marva Romrell Rogers and William Henry Rogers, in Ashton, Idaho. She received an Associate Degree from Ricks College, a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Brigham Young University in Home Economics Education. Joy taught for 18 years at Kennedy Junior High School in Granite School District. She was the instigator and coordinator for the Community of Caring Program at Kennedy Jr. High.She served a mission for the LDS Church in Arcadia, California, and thereafter held positions in the Stake Young Women's Presidency, Ward Young Women's Presidency, was a Relief Society and Primary Teacher. Joy was involved in many community activities and was an advocate for Breast Cancer Research. Her life was spent in loving and serving others.

She was preceded in death by a brother, mother and father. She is survived by her brothers and sisters: H. Lynn Rogers (Laurel Cannon)-Milpitas, California; Marie R. Decker (Karl)-Idaho Falls, Idaho; Jeanine Rogers-Clinton, Utah; Jerry E. Rogers (Lynette Peabody)-Lovettsville, Virginia; L. Renae Anderson (Wayne)-Boise, Idaho; Stephen W. Rogers (Liliana Jara Mendoza)-Moscow, Idaho; Daniel L. Rogers (Jenny Cross)-Corvallis, Oregon.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday July 3, at the 10th Ward South Cottonwood Stake Center, SLC, (1250 E. 4800 S.). The viewings will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary 4760 S. State St. and on Friday preceding the funeral from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the church. The place of interment will be in Ashton, Idaho at the Pineview Cemetery Friday evening.

Joy has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society instead of flowers.
