Because of the increase in traffic during the Fourth of July weekend, the Utah Safety Council wants to remind motorists to wear their seat belts.

The organization believes about 300 people survive car accidents during the holiday weekend because they wear seat belts. More would survive if everybody buckled up.The council offers these tips for safe driving:

- Don't forget to click your seat belt into place before you start moving. Make sure everybody in the vehicle is wearing a belt.

- Give yourself time to stop and rest on long road trips. Bring along games to keep the children entertained.
