Commissioner Mary Callaghan is still the winner over challenger Wendy Smith after a recount Tuesday of primary election votes.
The election results changed slightly. Where the initial count showed a 153-voted margin of victory, the recount increased that margin to 168.There were 11 absentee ballots added to the vote total, of which Callaghan received nine.
"I'm glad we did it (the recount)," Callaghan said. "Now we know for a surety."
Callaghan gave her administrative assistant a "high five" when the final recount figures were announced by County Clerk Sherrie Swensen.
The incumbent will face Democrat Karen Crompton in the general elections in November.
