Ronald Jay Halvorson, 38, passed away after a sudden illness Friday, June 26, 1998, while vacationing in Northern Minnesota.
He was born August 15, 1959 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Rodney Ronald and Viola Mae Ramsey Halvorson. Ronald graduated from Ben Lomond High School, Ogden, and Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma. His life's work was spent as a counselor with LDS Hospital, SLC, the Alcoholism Foundation of Utah at facilities in Price, St. George, Ogden, and Salt Lake City, Utah, and most recently with Davis County Mental Health. He was a member of UAADAC, Utah Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.Ronald was known for his love and deep caring of people demonstrated with compassion, humor, and humility.
Surviving are his father and step-mother, Rodney and Yvonne Halvorson, brother, Hal Halvorson, all of Ogden; sister, Patricia "Tricia" (Mark) Kelley, Thief River Falls, Minnesota; seven nieces; two nephews, many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special adopted sister, Lezlie Miller Chevalier, Ogden. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, July 2, 1998 at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, with Reverend Karl Kruse of Elim Lutheran Church officiating. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
