Jack Lemons of Joplin, Mo., thought a lot of the boy who delivered his newspaper for four years - so much so that he left him $50,000.
"It's one heck of a tip for putting his paper on the porch every day," said Kent Eberhardt, now 25, who just graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in architectural engineering.Eberhardt said he used the money to pay off his college debts of about $15,000 and invested the rest.
Lemons, who died June 14 at age 79, had been retired since 1989. He had worked as an instructor at Wentworth Military Academy. Eberhardt was 13 and a carrier for The Joplin Globe when he met Lemons.
