Our beloved aunt, Alice Adelaide Smith, age 89, of Monroe, died June 26, 1998 at her home in Monroe.
She was born March 13, 1909 in Sunnyside, Utah, a daughter of George Benjamin and Ellen C. Mower Smith. She was the fifth of seven children. She spent her childhood in Carbon and Sanpete Counties. She married Dan A. Smith October 2, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He died November 15, 1983. Adelaide was an accomplished writer and an officer in the Monroe Literose Club, seventeen times. Her greatest love was her old brick house and living in Monroe.She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and six brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Monroe 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, located at 140 South Main Street in Monroe, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
