Two advocacy groups have honored legislators who had a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities.

The Governor's Council for People with Disabilities and the Legislative Coalition for People with Disabilities honored the lawmakers at their annual "Heroes on the Hill" banquet.Sen. Pete Suazo, D-Salt Lake; Rep. Trisha Beck, D-Sandy; Rep. David Hogue, R-Riverton; and Rep. Nora Stephens, R-Sunset, were honored for sponsoring legislation and funding requests that helped people with disabilities.

Also honored for their ongoing support were Sen. Howard Stephenson, R-Draper; Sen. Nathan Tanner, R-Ogden; Rep. Judy Ann Buffmire, D-Salt Lake; Rep. Beverly Evans, R-Altamont; Rep. Lloyd Frandsen, R-South Jordan; and Rep. J. Brent Haymond, R-Springville.
