As we promised last week, here are more details on the discounts airlines offer senior citizens. Today's column has information about Frontier, Northwest and TWA. If you notice the absence of Delta, a major player in the Salt Lake market, that's because the airline soon will announce major changes to its seniors program. We'll pass them along when we get them.

Last week's column listed summaries of the seniors programs of American, America West, Continental, Southwest and United.Frontier: A person who is 62 or older is eligible for a 10 percent discount on any flight at any time. That person may take one companion of any age, who also gets the discount.

Northwest's NorthBest senior coupons come in books of four. Each book sells for $540. Each coupon is exchangeable for a one-way, coach ticket for travel within the continental United States, to Canada or San Juan, Puerto Rico. A flight from the continental United States to Hawaii or to Alaska takes two coupons each way. Reservations must be made at least 14 days prior to departure. Other restrictions apply. People 62 years old or older may purchase the books by calling 800-225-2525, from the airline's Web site at ( or through a travel agent.

- The airline offers a 10 percent discount off most fares to passengers who are 62 or older. A companion traveling the same itinerary with the senior citizen is eligible for the discount with no minimum age requirement.

- Every now and then the airline advertises special senior fares. They are advertised in local newspapers.

TWA offers 10 percent discounts on published domestic fares to people who are 62 or older. Senior citizen discounts may also be available to international destinations but vary from country to country. Ask when you make the reservation.

The airline sells Senior Travel Pack coupon books to people who are 62 or older. The four-pack coupon book sells for $548. The eight-pack booklet sells for $1,032. Each coupon is good for a one-way fare on a TWA domestic flight. And each book includes a Europe bonus certificate that's good for a 20 percent discount on a TWA flight to Europe. A companion who doesn't meet the age requirement may purchase a coupon book for an additional $100. For example, if your wife is 60 years old, she could purchase the four-pack for $648. The coupons are good for one year. Purchase the booklets by calling TWA reservations at 800-221-2000.
