The Salt Lake Buzz lost again Friday night. But, for a change, it wasn't their bullpen's fault.

Blame their starter and their lack of bats this time. The Edmonton Trappers jumped on Buzz starter Frank Rodriguez for three runs in the first inning and then cruised to a 6-1 victory over Salt Lake.

Rodriguez fell to 2-7 after giving up six earned runs on seven hits in 62/3 innings.

The Buzz dropped to 35-36, while the Trappers improved to 36-37. The two play again tonight at 7 p.m.

Buzz centerfielder Jamie Ogden provided the only highlight for the Buzz. He went 2-for-2 including a solo home run in the sixth inning. The rest of Salt Lake combined for only three hits against three Edmonton pitchers.
