Dogs usually get all the credit for saving their owners from some impending tragedy. This time, the nod is going to a 6-pound cat named C.C.
C.C.'s owner, Elsie Massey, 75, is a diabetic and says she might not be alive today if it weren't for C.C.'s persistent meowing.Massey, who lives alone, was sick about a month ago and went to bed without eating dinner. That caused her blood sugar to drop dangerously low while she slept.
The next thing Massey remembered was something touching her face, but she was sleeping so deeply that she couldn't open her eyes.
"I couldn't get awake," she said. "(C.C.) just kept getting louder and louder, meowing and yowling. She was pawing and licking my face. I finally opened my eyes."
