G. Marvin Thaxton, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998 at Sunshine Terrace, Logan, Utah from renal failure.

He was born July 23, 1911 at Taylorsville, Utah to George Henry and Annie Todd Thaxton. He had one brother and seven sisters who preceded him in death. His youth was spent on farms in Idaho and Utah. He worked in Southern Utah and California and later worked for the Forest Service. He also worked as a finish carpenter.He married Virginia J. Thompson, June 7, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple and they made their home in Salt Lake City. They traveled extensively stateside and to foreign countries. He was a High Priest and Home Teacher and enjoyed going to the temple. He was a member of the Olympus Male Chorus for 42 years and shared his singing talents on many occasions.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a son by a former marriage, Ron (Carole); and two grandchildren, Christa and Jeffrey, of Spokane, WA; step-son, Bruce Thompson (Janis); and four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 1998 at the Grant Sixth Ward, 3487 So. 1300 East, SLC, with public viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Laketown, Utah Cemetery.
