Mary Foster Guest, age 85, was called home to her Father in Heaven on Saturday, June 13, 1998. After a long, courageous battle with a myriad of infirmities, she has at last obtained her rest and is at peace. She had been most recently residing at the Sandy Regional Care Center in Sandy, Utah.

Mary was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 17, 1913, together with her twin brother, Melvin; the sixth child of Lorenzo Foster and Annie Laurie Taylor Foster. She married Charles James Guest on November 26, 1932. They were later divorced.She loved to travel and tend to her garden and yard until poor health left her unable in later years. Her little home on Downington Avenue was the pride of the neighborhood and her neighbors constantly voiced their amazement at her ability to work from morning until dark to make everything look just right.

Mary will be greatly missed by her surviving daughter, Mary Ann Astin; sons, Gary Marvin Guest, Charles Melvin Guest; twin brother, Melvin Foster; granddaughter, Michelle Astin Odette (Ray); and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brayden and Madeleine Odette.

She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Elsie, Gladys, John Edward, Thelma, Grant, and Richard.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 1998, in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, on Tuesday from 10-10:30 a.m. prior to graveside services at the cemetery.

The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Sandy Regional Care Center and Community Nursing Services for their personal loving care extended to Mary during her many years in their care.
