A black man told police that while walking home from a convenience store early Saturday, three white men in a car grabbed him and dragged him for 2 1/2 blocks, a case similar to the recent death of a black man in Texas.

Police were hoping to ask more questions of Cornelius Weaver, who told deputies three men in a passing car yelled racial slurs, and then the front and rear passengers grabbed him by the arm and pulled him along.Weaver, 23, suffered abrasions and bruises on his limbs and torso when he rolled away from the car after being dragged, sheriff's spokesman James Hartman said.
