It's one of the few parades where the spectators do all the walking.
From June 18-28, the Northern Wasatch Home Builders Association will showcase 25 new dwellings in its annual Parade of Homes. With 66.7 million Americans now owning their own homes, pride of ownership is a driving force in the market. And attendance at the Parade goes up every year.
Last year 24,000 people attended.
This year's theme will "Bringing Style & Quality Home." The fixed-site will be Lakeview Ridge in Ogden (seven homes), with 18 other homes scattered from Centerville to North Ogden. Homes range in price from $115,000 to $1 million.
Says David Ellis, president of the NWHBA, "The Parade of Homes has become a traditional event. Both first time homebuyers and those looking to build their second and third homes come to see the latest in building design, home products, architectural plans and landscaping."
Parade hours are Monday-Friday from 2-8:30 p.m. and on the weekend from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are available at Smith's Food & Drug from Bountiful to North Ogden, Boman's Market in Kaysville, R.C. Willey in Syracuse and Riverdale and at all home sites. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for children and seniors over 55.
