Anyone planning to take a trip this summer involving the purchase of tickets or motel rooms had better make their plans soon because space is going quickly.
That word come from Mark Slack, president of Morris Travel, who said the Travel Industry Association is predicting that Americans will take a record number of trips during the summer.Slack said sales have increased sharply as a result of people planning summer trips. "We've already surpassed our goals based on figures from last year. Sales have increased since the first of spring, which is when most people start thinking about summer trips," he said.
TIA predicted Americans will take 251 million trips during the summer to popular destinations in California, Florida, Hawaii and Nevada. More than 50 percent of those people will take their families. Morris Travel says it is keeping up with the trend by offering more family-style trips than ever.
