An additional batch of defective tubing used in dialysis machines has been linked to a new death in Alabama, prompting a Colorado company to expand its recall of dialysis tubing sold to 280 clinics.

Gambro Healthcare notified dialysis clinics on Wednesday to immediately stop using any so-called old-style Cobb Centrysystem3 Blood Tubing Sets and contact the company for replacements.Clinics can identify recalled tubing with the following catalog numbers: 003109-400; 003113-500; 003212-515; 003109-410; 003114-500; 003110-500; 003210-500; 003111-500; 003212-500; 003112-500; and 003101-000. Most were sold in the United States, but some were exported to Canada and Japan.
