Our beloved and devoted father and grandfather, Eugene Levetan, died peacefully June 8, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born October 4, 1919 at Holy Cross Hospital to Louis and Ann Levetan. He married Joy Capel and together they had four sons.At an early age he moved to Bingham, Utah where he spent much of his childhood. Later he moved back to Salt Lake City where he graduated from East High School in 1936. He later served in the Air Force and graduated from the University of Utah, 1941. In 1938 he was the State of Utah Ping-Pong Champion, an award that gave him great pride.

For many years, Gene owned and managed the Hub Clothing Store in Salt Lake City, and was a well known downtown retailer. After retirement, he became a SCORE volunteer and for years assisted many local small businesses. Gene was also active in many Jewish activities and was a past president of B'Nai Brith. He had a wonderful love and respect for his faith.

Gene is survived by his sons and grandchildren. He will be most remembered for his love and devotion to his family, especially his children. He sacrificed much over his lifetime for his children. We are grateful beyond words. Gene lived a wonderful life, and though he is gone, he has left a legacy of love that will survive for generations.
