LaRue Lyman Wentworth, 79, died Monday, June 8, 1998 at home.

She was born November 27, 1918 in Boulder, Garfield County, Utah, to Francis M. Lyman and Hazel Mae Snow. She married Douglas Sutton Wentworth June 24, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were sealed in the St. George Temple August 31, 1991. Mr. Wentworth preceded her in death April 23, 1993.Mrs. Wentworth attended Boulder Elementary School, Wayne County High School and graduated from Granite High School. She attended LDS Business College. She worked as a secretary until she met and married her husband. Together with her husband, they raised their family in Salt Lake City. In 1963 she went to work for the Utah Department of Employment Security, working there until she retired in 1982. In 1983 they moved to St. George. After the death of her husband, she returned to Salt Lake City where she has lived with her sister, Edith Isaacson.

She actively participated as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Cub Scouting Program, the Relief Society, and as an Extraction Missionary working with German records.

Mrs. Wentworth is survived by her three sons, Glenn L. Wentworth (Nancy); Ross L. Wentworth (Dixine); both of Salt Lake City; and Kirk L. Wentworth (Terri), of Roosevelt, Utah. Two granddaughters and nine grandsons survive her. She is also survived by five brothers and three sisters, Truman Lyman (Helen); Ivan Lyman (Dorothy); Kirk Lyman; all of Boulder, Utah; Dale Lyman (Lillian); Lincoln Lyman (Alice); both of Escalante, Utah; Edith Isaacson, of Salt Lake City; Opal (J.C.) Spencer, of Springville, Utah; and Loya Gubler (Glen), of St. George, Utah.

A viewing will be held Thursday, June 11, 1998 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South. Friends may also call Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Olympus Third Ward, 4100 Camille (4100 S. 2480 E.) Funeral Service at 12 noon in the Olympus Third Ward. Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn.
