Blaine Wallace (Bill) Dickson, 82, quietly passed away Monday, June 8, 1998, during a brief hospital stay in Ogden.
He was born September 9, 1915 in Morgan, Utah the son of Wallace H. and Bertha Hardy Dickson. Bill was raised in Morgan where he attended school and began his life's work. Soon after school, he met and fell in love with Ruby Green who has been his sweetheart for nearly 61 years. They were married in Salt Lake City on June 14, 1937. Their union was later solemnized on June 14, 1983 in the Salt Lake Temple.Bill is a World War II veteran, having served in the Army. For thirty three years, Bill worked as a firefighter at Hill Air Force Base. Following his retirement at HAFB, Bill began a second career selling real estate.
Bill and Ruby were thrilled to serve two missions for the LDS church, first to New Zealand and later to Australia. Their church service together continued as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple. Most recently, Bill has tirelessly devoted tender service to his wife. In the places Bill has lived and served, he has made friendships for a lifetime. In his own quiet, unassuming way, Bill left an indelible impression on those with whom he associated.
Surviving are his wife, of Morgan; a son and a daughter: Bob (KarelMae) Dickson, Vernal, Utah; Judy (Brock) Williams, Layton, Utah; foster sons: Larry (Billie) Bennett, Layton, Utah; Leslie (Anna) Bennett, Inscription House Trading Post, Arizona; 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Burke Dickson, of Morgan.
Funeral service will be held Friday, June 12, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Morgan First Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Interment, South Morgan Cemetery.
