The Utah State University Extension Service is offering a free class on learning how to get control of credit spending, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, in room 319 of the Historic Utah County Courthouse, 51 S. University.

Many consumers can get out of debt or substantially reduce their debt without visiting a financial institution, signing new contracts or giving control of their money to someone else. Learning how to manage consumer credit can be one of the best decisions a person will ever make. Those interested in attending and having a computer analysis showing how much money could be saved and how soon they could be out of debt should bring the following information on each creditor: current balance, annual percentage rate and monthly payment. If a mortgage payment is listed, only put the part of the payment for interest and principal but not taxes or insurance.
