Eleanor Ann Bergstedt Horton, age 63, died June 6, 1998 at her home in Springville, Utah.

She was born November 8, 1934 in Quincy, Illinois to Henrik and Waldemar and Ruth Bergstedt. Eleanor graduated from East High School, Salt Lake City, and Brigham Young University, Provo. She met her husband, George Robert (Bob) Horton at BYU and was married August 29, 1957 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She taught for 26 years as a business and english teacher at Springville Jr. High, Utah Valley State College, Provo High, and Piute High. She was an active member of the LDS church and served in various church positions including Stake Missionary with her husband in Fort Worth, Texas.Eleanor was blessed with many special life-long friends. She cherished her pinochle group and her ladies clubs, Les Jolie Femme and Las Quintas Bonitas. She also had a very close association with her colleagues at Springville Junior High.

She is survived by her husband, George Robert Horton; children, Tove Stroman, of Provo; G. Eric Horton, of Salt Lake City; D. Bart Horton (Shelly), of Salt Lake City; Michelle Bills (Scott), of Salt Lake City; and Rebecca McAlister (Paul), of Springville; grandchildren, Jordan, Nicholas, and Alexis Stroman, Zachary Bills, and Sarah McAlister; brothers, Jack Bergstedt (Rhonda), of Salt Lake City; Einar Bergstedt (Connie), of Saratoga, CA; and Steven Bergstedt (Irene), of Salt Lake City; sisters, Helen Bradshaw (Frank), of Salt Lake City; and Sonja Ruth Anthony (Glenn), of Salt Lake City; parents-in-law, Garald and Ina Horton, of Circleville; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Strange (John), of St. George, and Helen Winget (Burke), of Lafayette, CA; and a special aunt, Anne Rawlings, of Salt Lake City. She has many close loving cousins and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Suzanne; and granddaughter, Mikayla Bills.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 9, 1998 at 10 a.m. in the Spring Creek 1st Ward Chapel, 900 East 200 North, Springville, UT. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, or one hour prior to service at the church. Graveside service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Circleville Cemetery.
