Our beloved mother, Vesta Lancaster Harmon, age 90, lifetime resident of West Jordan, Utah, returned to her Heavenly Father on June 4, 1998. She was surrounded by her family in her home at the time of her passing.

She was born February 3, 1908, a daughter of John and Martha Elizabeth Maynard Lancaster. She married Carl Edward Harmon July 1, 1931. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Her husband preceded her in death March 15, 1977. She attended the University of Utah, majoring in Elementary Education. Later, she was employed by Pullman Tailors and Century Tailors and retired at age 70. She loved gardening and raising beautiful flowers. She belonged to the West Jordan Beautification Club and Lady Lions, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in both ward and stake Primary callings. She was a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple for 15 years.She was a wonderful mother who taught her daughters what is truly important in life. She was a great example of joy and love to all she met.

"God saw her getting tired. He put His arms around her and whispered, "Come and rest." We will miss you. You have enriched our lives and we have been blessed for your presence. We know you will watch over us and wait until we can be with you again."

She is survived by her three daughters, Myrna (Gerald) Stewart, Provo; Sherilyn (Stephen) Kelly, West Jordan; and Carla Harmon, Salt Lake City; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 8, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the West Jordan River 6th Ward, 7350 South 1300 West, West Jordan. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, and at the Ward Chapel on Monday one hour prior to service. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery, 7800 South 1300 West, West Jordan, Utah.
