A couple of classical music events are slated for Saturday, June 6:

- THE UTAH PHILHARMONIA, the Utah Concert Chorale and the Utah A Cappella Choir will join forces for a concert at Abravanel Hall. The music will begin at 8 p.m.The performance will feature Utah composer Jay Welch's "The Marshes of Glynn," Wagner's overture to "The Flying Dutchman," Saint-Saens' "Marche Militaire Francaise" and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.

Tickets for $10, with half-price tickets available for students and senior citizens, can be purchased at all ArtTix outlets or by calling 355-ARTS (2787).

- THE WEST VALLEY SYMPHONY'S season finale will be performed Saturday at Granger High School, 3690 S. 3600 West, at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Harmons/Best, Harmons in Bennion, the Valley Fair Mall public service desk and Jerry's IGA. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the performance.

Some of the selections that will be presented include the fourth movement of Tchaikovsky Symphony No.4, music from the "Ti-tanic" movie, excerpts from various James Bond movies and the works of the late George Gershwin, to commemorate his 100th birthday.
