Game 2: June 4, 1997

Chicago 97, Utah 85

CHICAGO - Exactly what can you do when the game's greatest player is having "one of those nights?" Not much, really.

Utah fell back two games to the Bulls after Michael Jordan absolutely blew them off the United Center hardwood. Jordan scored 38 points, hauled in 13 rebounds and handed out nine assists, one shy of a triple-double.

"With him, when he puts his mind to it, he will just do it," said Jeff Hornacek.

The Jazz, contrastingly, were on the opposite end of that spectrum. They trailed by 21 points in the fourth quarter and, save for a late spurt when the Bulls' starters were sitting cozily on the pine, were dominated for 48 minutes.

"We just got waxed tonight, as a whole," said Karl Malone, who had 20 points but on only 6-20 shooting. "We played soft."
