George Deem, age 93, died Sunday, May 31, 1998 at Aspen Care Center.

Born August 19, 1904 in Hyrum, Utah, son of Mr. and Mrs. Janus Richard Deem. Reared in Farr West and educated in West Weber.Married Flossie Bingham, February 8, 1928 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death on October 8, 1997. Also preceded in death by two brothers, five sisters and two grandchildren.

Employed by the railroad, Ogden Transit Authority, and R. J. Wight Company. Served an LDS mission in England, held many church positions, and filled many temple assignments. Was a Riverdale City Councilman. Loved to fish, bowl, walk and repair everything.

Survived by two sons and one daughter, Gene F. (Marilyn) Deem, Sandy; Vaughn A. (Danna) Deem, North Ogden; Lyndsay L. (Darrel) Wayment, South Weber; two sisters, Lottie Dustman and Goldie Layman. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 5 at 11 a.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden with Bishop Norman Sevy officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
