Amoco has signed a deal with Salt Lake-based Hardy Enterprises to rebrand 23 Hardy-owned retail convenience stations currently under the Texaco name to the Amoco brand.

Seven of the sites are in Salt Lake County with the others in northern Utah and Evanston, Wyo.The additions bring the number of Amoco convenience stations in Utah to more than 140.

"Our strategic vision in Utah is to expand our network of convenient locations which will help us emerge as the stop of choice for today's convenience-minded motorist," said Jim Lamanna, Amoco manager in Utah.

"This agreement represents one of the many steps in our strategy to aggressively build market share and brand awareness in the Salt Lake Valley and Utah."
