Lucille Caldwell Jones, age 94, passed away Sunday, May 31, 1998.

This lifelong resident of Murray was the fifth child born to Charles Caldwell, Jr. and Jane Elizabeth Moss Caldwell on the 28th of August 1903 in Murray, Utah. After attending Murray schools and the University of Utah, she taught school in the Granite School District and is well remembered by her students. Lucille married Walter A. Jones of New York City on 22 July 1936 in Murray. They lived their entire married life on Glenn Street in Murray.Walter preceded her in death on January 11, 1992. She was an active member of the LDS church. Lucille will be remembered for her long and diligent service in the Ward and Stake Primary organizations, as well as Ward Librarian. She actively participated in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers serving in many leadership positions. She enjoyed reading the scriptures and doing genealogy work. Lucille had a love for doing hand work, cooking and entertaining her many friends in her lovely home.

She is survived by three nieces, Betty Jane Harris, Margaret McLain, and Elaine Read; as well as many grand nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends who loved and helped her in her last years.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 1998 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St, Murray, where friends may call one hour prior to service. Burial will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
