Anita Freeman Bennett died following an automobile accident on May 27, 1998.
She was born June 24, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Anita is the daughter of Lucy G. Freeman McBride and Carl G. Freeman. She will be remembered for her zesty personality, constant energy and fun loving attitude. Her life was centered around her children and grandchildren and provided great love, support, guidance and spiritual strength. "Nini" made all family celebrations special and very memorable. Anita loved physical exercise and remained very active throughout her life. She taught aerobics and produced an aerobics video after bearing six children. She loved to ride her bike to Snowbird two to three times per week and won the Snowbird hill climb for her age group two years in a row. She had great gifts of teaching and assisting others. Anita taught self esteem seminars and became a much sought after speaker on that subject. Her love of teaching carried over into many church callings and teaching at home. Her desire to assist others blended well with the field of medicine where she assisted her husband in surgery and office activities. They served as a successful team both professionally and personally. Music has been an important part of her life and she played the piano by ear for the enjoyment of her family and friends.Anita is survived by her husband , Stephen H. Bennett; daughter, Tara (Rich) Mickelsen, of Saratoga Springs, New York; son, Todd (Stephanie) Nielsen, of Carlsbad, California; son, Benjamin; son, Christian, daughter, Lindsey; and son, Nicholas, all of Salt Lake City, UT; one sister and four brothers; mother, father and stepmother; as well as grandchildren, Lauren, Alexandria, Mercedes, Amanda and Tyler. She will be greatly missed by all.
A viewing will be held Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Granite Ward 9575 So. 3100 East, Sandy, Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday at 12 noon at Granite View Stake Center, 9880 So. 3100 East, Sandy, Utah, where a viewing will be held one hour prior to service.
