Civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks was hospitalized Saturday after a fall in her apartment, a television station reported.

Citing information obtained from Parks' niece, WDIV in Detroit reported that Parks was taken to Harper Hospital Saturday after suffering a fall.Tests were conducted to see if she had a heart attack or a stroke. Both were negative, the station reported.

Parks, 85, is best known for refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Ala., bus in 1955 to a white man. Her arrest touched off the Montgomery bus boycott.
