Children decorate buttons, above, during a spring carnival held Thursday at Hogle Zoo. The event was sponsored by the zoo and US WEST for children from the Travelers Aid Society, University Hospital, Weigand Resource Center and Guadalupe Schools. At right, teacher Graciela Ponce helps Martina Nava, 4, and Alejandro Cruz, 4, decorate a visor. The children also participated in a variety of other crafts projects, such as salt art, spin art and decorating ballons. They took part in games and visited the animal exhibits at the zoo. They also received animal trading cards and Utah Jazz posters from US WEST during the annual event. Volunteers helping with the carnival included Hogle Zoo employees and members of the US WEST Community Relations Team.
