Auditions have been scheduled for the following regional stage productions:

- SCOOTER WELLS, BOY DETECTIVE, on Saturday, June 6, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Desert Star Playhouse, 4861 S. State, Murray.There are roles for five men and three women. All auditioners must be at least 18 years of age. Come prepared to sing a song of your own choice (an accompanist will be provided) and perform cold readings from the script. A dance combination may also be taught (dress accordingly). Please bring a current resume and photograph, if possible.

Beth Bruner is directing the show, with musical direction by David Len Allen.

All eight players will also take part in the post-show olio and musical revue, "Tumbling Tumble Weeds." Performances will be Mondays & Thursdays-Saturdays, Aug. 6-Sept. 19.

- THE MUSIC MAN, on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30 until 10 p.m. at Hillcrest Junior High School.

This musical, being performed July 30-Aug. 5 by the Murray Arts Advisory Board as part of Murray's annual Arts in the Park series, replaces the previously announced "Hello, Dolly!"

Call backs will be held on June 6, and rehearsals will start the following week. All auditioners must be at least 8. Those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Be prepared to sing 16 bars of a Broadway show tune. An accompanist will be provided. Auditioners should also be asked to dance (come dressed appropriately).

- SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS, on Wednesday and Saturday, June 3 and 6, at Hale Center Theater Orem, 225 W. 400 North. All singing auditions will be by appointment only. Come prepared to sing 16 measures of a Broadway standard. An accompanist will be provided. No "belt" technique or a cappella singing, please.

All auditoners will also be required to attend the separate dance auditon, scheduled for June 16 (no appointment is necessary for this session).

Syd Riggs is directing, with choreography by Brent Mills and musical direction by Jan Webb. Performances will be Aug. 21-Oct. 12.

- THE WIZARD OF OZ on Saturday, May 30, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Rodgers Memorial Theatre rehearsal hall, 292 E. Pages Lane.

Come prepared with 16 bars of a Broadway show tune (an accompanist will be provided). Doug Vandegrift is directing and Kim Madsen is choreographing the show, which will run Aug. 13-Sept. 19.

All roles are open and the show will be double cast. Children must be no taller than 5-feet to play Munchkins.
