Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and husband, Dail Dubath Nielson, 87, passed away May 23, 1998, in Provo, Utah.
He was born December 11, 1910, in Ephraim, Utah, to Louis B.Y. and Anne Caroline Anderson Nielson. He married Maurine Guymon, July 8, 1942, in the Cardston Alberta, Canada LDS Temple.Dail was employed at the United States Geneva Steel Plant for 27 years, retiring to his landscaping business which he continued for many years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and at the time of his death was high priest in the Slate Canyon Third Ward in Provo. He served in many positions, serving as president of the Elders, and Seventies Quorums and High Priest Group Leader. He was also stake high councilor over the Indian Placement Program. He was a worker in the Provo LDSTemple.
Dail in survived by his wife Maurine of 55 years of Provo; his five children, Dail Dee (Mary) of Orem, Barrie (Kathi) of Sandy, Val (Chandra) of Springville, Carol (Shirl) Brimhall of Spanish Fork, and Louis (Lily) of Provo; 25 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Averil of Burlingame, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Phiner, Ledale, Ludeal, Adin, Glen J.; one sister, Melva Rigby; and a grandson, Dan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at 1 p.m. in the Slate Canyon Third Ward Chapel, 1498 East 800 South, Provo. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 85 East 300 South, Provo, and Wednesday at the church from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW District #4.
