Our courageous mother, Lilly Pedersen Saville, age 80, passed away May 23, 1998 in Holladay, Utah.
She was born January 4, 1918 in Salt Lake City to Alfred and Stella Pedersen. An honored art student, she graduated from South High School in 1935. Lilly married Marvin Saville, October 1, 1937, they later being sealed in the Jordan River Temple. He passed away in September 1984.Lilly is survived by her five children, Loniel, Elden (Sherry), Dianne Laws (Jay), Gary (Linda), Cliff (Tari); 20 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and infant brother, Willy.
A gifted artist before her long disability, Lilly used her considerable talent working in both commercial art and fashion design; employed by, among others, ZCMI and Utah Woolen Mills. Many of her drawings appeared in newspaper ads during the '40's. A self taught pianist, she also pursued her passion for music by singing in amateur vocal groups, most notably as a soloist with the Schubert Singers. In her early married life she was active as a Sunday school and primary teacher.
Friends may call at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Wednesday, May 27th, 6-8 p.m. Graveside service will be held Thursday, May 28th, 11 a.m., at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
