An 80-year-old Memphis man's unique pest-removal technique has landed him in jail.
Charles Stancliff was arrested Saturday after going out into his back yard, aiming his rifle at a troublesome squirrel and pumping a bullet through his neighbor's bedroom wall."It was real scary," said Latoya Cole, a neighbor. "It was real scary the first time, too, but I brushed it off."
The first time?
According to Cole, Stancliff was also a poor shot in his back yard last weekend.
The police report noted that Stancliff uses a .22-caliber rifle to combat the nut-loving rodents.
"He shoots at them every now and then to scare them off," the report said.
