More than 250 students will receive diplomas during LDS Business College's 112th commencement exercises Thursday, June 11, in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square.
The event will begin at 1:50 p.m. with an academic processional. The program will begin at 2 p.m.Bishop Keith B. McMullin of the Presiding Bishopric of the LDS Church will deliver the commencement address. Aron D. Anderson, a business major from Canon City, Colo., will deliver the student address.
McMullin has served in the Presiding Bishopric since 1996. He is a banking and finance graduate of the University of Utah and worked for 20 years with the LDS Church's welfare services department, 10 years as managing director. He also worked with Ford Motor Company as an investment and financial analyst.
Julia L. Hogan, marketing director for the ZCMI Center Mall and a 1994 graduate of the college, will receive the 1998 Distinguished Alumnus Award. The award is the highest honor given by the college and recognizes former students who have made significant contributions to their profession, families and communities.
Hogan graduated from LDS Business College in 1994. She worked for Trolley Square as the first marketing director and was a marketer for the Triad Center. She received the highest national ranking from Melvin Simon & Associates for her work as a public relations professional in the area of shopping mall marketing. She was the first woman in Utah to receive national accreditation as a certified marketing director and recently was named a senior certified marketing director.
