Spring. It's time for baby birds to leave the nest and learn to fly - including the 80-day-old chick of the Southern ground hornbills at Tracy Aviary. This chick, who was born in February at the Aviary, is the first ever to be fathered by a human-raised male Southern ground hornbill. The mother and her baby can now be viewed in their outdoor pen. The father, who is having aggression problems because of being hand-raised, won't join his family for a few months.
