Tosh Kelsch of Sandy walks along the edge of the new Draper swimming pool, perhaps wishing the weather were nicer. Salt Lake County's newest pool opened Friday, but the weather didn't cooperate. The $2.2 million, eight-lane Olympic-size pool was designed by the county to serve the fast-growing community. The pool accommodates up to 350 people, features two diving boards (1 and 3 meters high) and ranges from 3 to 13 feet deep. Preseason hours are Monday-Friday, 3:30-8:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 12-8 p.m.; Sundays, 12-5 p.m.; and Memorial Day, 12-5 p.m. The summer schedule starts June 8. Story on Page B3.
