Elizabeth May Bullock, 97, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, died of natural causes on May 20, 1998 at an adult care residence in Haymarket, Virginia.
Beth was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1900, the daughter of Edgar Oakley and Emily Casper Oakley. In 1918, she married Sidney Bullock, who was employed by Hercules Powder Company in Bacchus, Utah. Sid and Beth lived in Bacchus, where their son, Bob and daughter, Marian were born. Sid was transferred to Hercules, California in 1943.Beth accepted a position as a U.S. Mail Clerk in the local Post Office in Hercules. She retired at age 70, eventually becoming active with the Pinole Senior Citizens, traveling extensively throughout the United States and some foreign countries. She enjoyed frequent trips to Reno, Nevada with the Senior's group. Later in life Beth experienced a degree of dementia which became a major factor in her daily living. She was brought to Virginia to be near her son so that he and his family could take an active part in her care.
Her husband of 58 years died in 1976. Her daughter, Marian, passed away in 1974. Beth is survived by a son, Bob, of Virginia; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Wilson & Kratzer Mortuary, 455 24th Street, Richmond, CA. Graveside service to follow at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond at 1 p.m., where she will be buried with her husband, Sid.
