Most lower elevation campgrounds will be open this weekend in the Uinta National Forest, but backcountry hiking and camping is limited.

High mountain areas are wet and snowpacked, and some roads are wet and muddy.In the Heber District, all campgrounds will be open with water and fees, except Mill Hollow and Wolf Creek because of snow. Boaters should watch for debris and submerged structures on Current Creek, Soldier Creek and Strawberry Reservoir. For conditions, call 654-0470.

In the Pleasant Grove District, only Little Mill and Granite Flat campgrounds will be open with water and fees. All picnic areas will be open with water, except for Theater in The Pines. The Alpine Loop opens Friday. Visitors must first obtain a recreation pass for the fee demonstration area at Forest Service or Alpine Loop entrance stations. For updated conditions, call 785-3563.

In the Spanish Fork Ranger District, all campgrounds will be open with water and fees except Blackhawk, Payson Lakes, Maples Bench, Bear Canyon and Tinney Flat. All trails and roads at higher elevations are inaccessible because of wet conditions. The Mount Nebo Loop Road opens June 1. For updated conditions, call 798-3571.
