Myrtle Irene Slater Coward Lehmitz, 85, of South Jordan, died May 19, 1998 in Salt Lake City.
Born June 23, 1912 in Lehi, Utah, the daughter of Nephi John and Elenor Colledge Slater. She married Ronald S. Coward, March 14, 1931 in Lehi, he died June 27, 1962 and she later married Roy H. Lehmitz, February 16, 1969 in Elko, NV. She was a member of the LDS Church and loved being a homemaker, she was the ninth child of ten born to her parents.She is survived by her husband, South Jordan; one daughter and one son-in-law: Mrs. Gary (Karen) Walker, Lindon; Glen W. Adams, Pleasant Grove; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Roy Slater, American Fork; James Slater, Lehi. Preceded in death by two daughters: Roberta Adams and Connie Coward; her first husband; three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 23, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the South Jordan 2nd Ward, 2450 West 10400 South. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and one hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial in the American Fork City Cemetery.
