The city's first-ever Public Works Fair is set for Tuesday, May 19, at the city shops, 2851 S. 3600 West.

The fair will run from 3 to 8 p.m. and offers residents a chance to learn about the city department that ensures many of the services they rely upon each day: water, sewer, garbage collection and transportation.City spokesman Ed Quinlan said the fair is open to all residents and their families, Scouting groups and youth organizations.

Food will be served, there will be education booths and hands-on activities. Door prizes will be given away along with 500 souvenir "hard hats."
