Keith Wright, 78, of Coalville, Utah passed away Thursday, May 14, 1998, due to natural causes at the Rocky Mountain Health Care, Heber, Utah.
He was born on January 15, 1920, one of four sons born to Lawrence and Mary Ellen Staples Wright.He married Blanche Turnbow March 17, 1941 in Coalville, Utah. He served his country in World War II and participated in several campaigns in the European Theater including "Battle of the Bulge." He was with one of the first army units to liberate prisoners of war in Germany. During his early years, he worked on the family farm and in the coal mines. His real work love was in the timber industry and the ability to work the land and raise farm animals. He and Blanche purchased Ken's Service in Coalville which they successfully operated for several years. After selling the business, he worked as a pumper in the oil fields near Coalville. He served on the board of directors of the Chalk Creek/Hoytsville Water Users Assn.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche; daughter, Carma Burns (James); sons, Dennis Wright (Sara) and David Wright (Rona), all of Coalville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Ray Wright (Belva), Taylorsville; and Lee Wright (Orvaline), Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Emery Wright. Keith was a member of the LDS Church.
His funeral will be at the Coalville Stake Center Tuesday, May 19, 1998 at 1 p.m. Friends may attend a viewing Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 268 South Main, Coalville. Interment, Coalville City Cemetery.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Allen, nurses and staff of Rocky Mountain Health Care for the love and attention shown to Keith during his short stay with them.
