Jazz 103, Rockets 100
HOUSTON - A year later, "the shot" is still very familiar to Jazz fans. John Stockton drained a 26-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Jazz their first NBA Finals appearance.
With 2.8 seconds remaining and the game knotted at 100-100, Stockton worked around a Karl Malone screen and received an inbounds pass from Bryon Russell. After two dribbles, the NBA's all-time assist leader let it fly and elevated the Jazz to new heights.
Stockton's shot capped a comeback in which the Jazz rallied from a 10-point deficit with three minutes remaining.
Jazz top scorer: John Stockton, 25
Rockets top scorer: Clyde Drexler, 33
