A Broadway musical farce, an evening of one-act plays and a murder-mystery dinner are on tap this week for theatergoers.

- "A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM," one of Broadway's wildest musical madcaps, will play May 22-June 6 at the Heritage Community Theatre in Perry.Directed by Kurt Rigby, the cast includes Clayton Gerrard as Hero, Devon Hunzeker as Erroneus, Paul Naylor as Hysterium, Kathy Rigby as Domina, Mac Edwards as Pseudolus, Roger Brunker as Marcus Lucus, Dean Bannon as Miles Gloriosus, Sheila Targer as Philia and Steve Davis as Senex.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, the show contains such tunes as "Comedy Tonight" and "Everybody Ought to Have a Maid."

Performances will be Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with one matinee at 2 p.m. on May 30. The theater is located at 2505 S. Highway 89, between Brigham City and Ogden. Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens. For reservations, call 1-435-723-8392.

- WSU'S BIENNIAL ONE-ACT PLAY FESTIVAL, featuring five student-directed plays, will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 64 (dance studio) of the school's Swensen Gymnasium.

The plays are Jean-Paul Sartre's existential classic, "No Exit," directed by Sarah Bartlo; Susan Glaspell's "Trifles," directed by Nicolette Coiner; Katherine Snodgrass's "Haiku," directed by KAThleen Mitchell, and two short comedies by David Ives, staged in tandem, "Words, Words, Words" and "English Made Simple," directed by Sara Lewis.

- "GODFATHER OF THE BRIDE," a Hunt Mystery and Company audience participation dinner event, is scheduled Friday, May 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the Salt Lake Hilton, 150 W. 500 South.

Set during the Roaring '20s, the action surrounds a wedding reception at a speakeasy. The troupe includes Lenore Cambria, Mark Hardy, Phil Lindhardt, Vic and Michelle Groves, Jocelyn Hunter, Kim Hart and Sean Keane.
