Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, Sarah Myrle Western Cahoon Bennett, 99, died May 15, 1998 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Deseret, Utah July 9, 1898 to Samuel Wood and Clara Margaret Phillips Western, the fourth of eight children. Married Daniel Vernon Cahoon August 16, 1915, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They had three children. He died January 22, 1936. Married John Adelbert Bennett June 7, 1940, he died November 15, 1965.She was an active member of the LDS Church with callings in all the auxiliaries and the Stake Board. She spoke often of her special boys in her Sunday school class. She enjoyed performing in the roadshows and stake plays. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She received much pleasure in giving compassionate service to others. Myrle's hobbies were collecting poems, quilting, embroidering and gardening. She enjoyed making scrap books of the plays and programs during her lifetime. She was captain of the D.U.P. for many years.
Survived by her daughter, LaPreal Hansen; 11 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 53 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by brothers and sisters; her two sons, Blaine Vernon Cahoon and Glen Henry Cahoon; and one grandson Gene Vernon Cahoon.

Funeral service will be held Monday May 18, 1998 11 a.m. at the Spencer 3rd Ward, 8181 W. 3320 So. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, and Monday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be Monday 3 p.m. at the Deseret Cemetery.
